The 2 acre complex is comprised of four buildings donated and built by the Hostetler-Purdy family from America. The buildings, surrounded by a 6 foot wall with two gated entrances, include the KES school, the 10,000 square foot Hostetler-Gunnhild Clinic, the 5,000 foot Purdy Dining Hall and the partially built 5,000 square foot chapel. The 50,000 square foot school is five stories, three of which open out onto a large auditorium. Administrative offices, teachers' staff rooms and 5 classrooms occupy the 1st floor. The Director's office, 9 classrooms and a guest bedroom occupy the 2nd floor. The third floor contains the Director's apartment, 6 private visitor bedrooms, a kitchen and dining room as well as a staff prayer room. Plans to complete the 4th floor for l1th and 12th grades as well as 2 dormitories for the orphan boys and a 5th floor Bible School will take place when funds are available. The clinic is complete with reception area, a doctor's exam room, a lab, a pharmacy, an injection/first aid room and 2 long-term patient rooms. The Purdy Dining Hall accommodates 200 orphans for meals. The remainder of the acreage is a children's playground and garden. |
